In late April, the EPA Office of Mission Support (OMS) hosted a three-day virtual meeting with EPA, state, and tribal partners. EPA’s Chief of Staff kicked off the event and welcomed the more than 540 participants; this was followed by remarks from the EPA Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Deputy Assistant Administrator for Environmental Information. Sessions included:

  • Plenaries addressing EPA’s Quality Program Vision, Quality Assurance (QA) and Scientific Integrity, Partners at Work and in Action, ERIS & State PFAS Efforts, and Innovative QA Practices.
  • Breakouts addressing quality assurance (QA) best practices and challenges.

The meeting was a tremendous success, as demonstrated through the broad partner participation and continued attendance across all three days. The topics discussed emphasized the EPA CIO’s commitment to quality, recognized the importance of including QA within the work of all partners, and stressed that QA matters and is integral in contributing to the mission of protecting human health and the environment.
