The ECHO Governance Team creates a space for collaboration among ECHO staff and co-regulators. It serves as the nexus for cooperative stewardship of ECHO data and a body for jointly tracking issues and managing continuous improvements to ECHO’s performance and usability.
CHALLENGE
U.S. EPA’s ECHO is a critical tool that allows the public to access and analyze information about facilities regulated under the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, and Safe Drinking Water Act. As co-regulators, states and U.S. EPA have a mutual responsibility to ensure that the information in ECHO is accurate, timely, complete, and presented in usable context. Meeting this joint obligation requires more cooperative stewardship of ECHO and its data.
